Career fair draws local employers and boosts CTE partnerships, district reports

District administrators reported strong participation in the recent high school career fair and ongoing growth in CTE programs. Athletic Director Ms. Wallisa and High School Principal Mr. Rasmussen said the career fair hosted 81 vendors, included 11 schools and drew more than 950 student attendees; 115 post-event surveys were returned and some vendors scheduled interviews.
Administrators highlighted CTE collaboration with Cloverdale and Salem-Keizer programs; Mr. Rasmussen said 40 Cascade students currently attend Willamette Career Academy but that cosmetology program capacity is limited to four slots while 15 students expressed interest. The district also noted production of Mother's Day gifts by high-school metals students and cross-school participation in manufacturing and ag programs.
