Greene County Public Health outlines mobile clinic, outreach and school-based services

Greene County Public Health representatives described a new mobile health van and expanded outreach during the town board meeting, saying it will bring reproductive services, vaccinations and screenings directly to the community. "We do have a full reproductive health clinic, at 411 Main Street in Catskill," a public-health staff member said, and added the van can provide vaccinations through the federally funded Vaccine for Children program.

Isiani Figueroa, who identified herself as the community health worker program assistant and outreach coordinator for Greene County Public Health and Greene Community Health, said her team aims to reduce barriers such as transportation and language. "My work includes bringing health services directly into the community, connecting residents to care and local resources, helping reduce barriers like access, transportation, and awareness," she said, and offered to be a point of contact for local events.

Presenters also described early-intervention services (ages 0–3), maternal-child health nursing, school-based vaccination clinics with parental consent, and insurance-navigation help for residents losing coverage. Board members asked whether vaccinations and basic screenings would be provided on the van; presenters confirmed they would, and noted plans to add cholesterol and blood-sugar screening. The board thanked the presenters and welcomed further coordination for future community events.

The presentation is intended as outreach rather than a request for town funding; presenters emphasized partnership with schools, local organizations and federally funded vaccine programs. The public-health team left contact information and offered follow-up at the board's convenience.
