Sam Perlman was elected president of the Jericho Union Free School District Board of Education at the district's reorganization meeting after a motion and second from board colleagues. The board then accepted Jennifer Bartnoff as vice president by nomination from Perlman and an approving vote.
Perlman told trustees he intends to standardize the board calendar: with the August 7 meeting moved to Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m. (location to be dictated by construction status) and two formal board meetings each month for all months except August. He also warned trustees that several short executive sessions will likely appear on the summer schedule tied to interviews for administrative positions. "We will put out the agendas beforehand so you know, as we always do, the exact topics that will be decided," Perlman said during the opening portion of the meeting.
The board subsequently moved and approved a block of routine organizational resolutions listed in the meeting packet (motions to move resolutions 3–37 were proposed and carried). The reorganization and officer elections were conducted by standard motion and voice vote; the board recorded no contested results on these items.
