Superintendent James Owens presented a first read of proposed revisions to Policy JOA (Directory Information), explaining that the changes were recommended in response to updates from the State Board of Education to education records. Owens said the draft deletes grade level from the directory information policy and suggested that grade-level sharing can be handled via permission slips when necessary.
Board members had no questions on the first read and agreed to place the item in confirmation items for the next meeting. Because this is a first read, no adoption occurred; staff will include the item in upcoming confirmation or second-read business as appropriate.
