Committee raises parking, sidewalk and accessibility concerns for Maplewood and Junction 183
Summary

Committee members raised safety and equity concerns about internal pedestrian connectivity and sidewalks at Maplewood, noting the proposed playscape could attract many children but the existing site plans do not show sidewalks.
Tyler King of CHA answered that "I don't believe the existing site has sidewalks currently, and there are not any shown on this plan," and said the existing condition survey noted 71 spaces while the map shows 67 striped spaces; the applicants proposed increasing parking to 74 spaces. Members asked the applicant to provide internal pedestrian paths so residents would not have to walk in the road to reach playgrounds or town amenities.
The committee also asked about accessible units. Presenters said some units may already have accessibility features and that they would identify and, if necessary, upgrade at least one unit to meet accessibility requirements prior to occupancy.
