The Merced County Board of Education voted unanimously June 16 to adopt Local Control Accountability Plans (LCAPs) with the required Budget Overview for Parents Review for three school entities: Merced Scholars Charter School, Come Back Charter School, and Merced County Office of Education Community and Court Schools. Joseph Oh, Coordinator—Educational Services, presented the reports and legal compliance citations under Education Code 52068(b)(2).
Board members moved and seconded each adoption separately: Geneva Brett moved to adopt the LCAP for Merced Scholars Charter and Frank Fagundes seconded; Frank Fagundes moved to adopt Come Back Charter's LCAP and Rodrigo Espinosa seconded; Rodrigo Espinosa moved to adopt the MCOE Community and Court Schools LCAP and Geneva Brett seconded. Each motion carried with a vote of 4-0. The actions complete the LCAP adoption step required for these entities before the start of the 2025–2026 school year.
The adoptions were presented as compliance items with no public comment recorded. The board also approved a revised 2025 Federal Addendum to the LCAPs in the same session.
