Board approves updated organizational chart amid concern about administrative growth

The Medford School District board voted unanimously to approve an updated organizational chart after Interim Superintendent Jeanne Grazioli presented a draft and comparative charts from the previous two years. Sandra LaNier McHenry moved to approve the chart and Erik Johnsen seconded the motion; the roll-call vote recorded six yeas, with Lilia Caballero absent for the vote.
Directors raised questions during discussion about perceived growth of administration over time, administrative salary levels, and the role and resourcing of the communications department given the district’s size. The board approved the motion with an understanding that questions about staffing and salary trends would be tracked going forward.
