At the meeting Shawn Stoltz, a resident of 2 Railroad Street, told the board that “the rats have gotten into his garage and have damaged property” and asked the Village to fill a ditch near his home or to provide other remedies.
Superintendent Johnston replied that the rats are likely coming from the nearby creek and said the Village may not be able to eliminate them entirely, but Johnston and Fred DiRisio will visit the property to evaluate potential mitigation options and report back to the board.
The board did not make an immediate expenditure decision on the matter but authorized inspection and follow-up by DPW and water/sewer staff.
