Johnsburg approves year‑end transfers and pays nearly $41,000 nursing‑home settlement

At the Dec. 17 meeting the Johnsburg Town Board approved annual year‑end budget line transfers intended to correct negative balances and close out accounts for the fiscal year. The chair explained the transfers are a routine housekeeping step required before the year closes.
The chair said the nursing‑home settlement payment to be made as part of those transfers is "just shy of $41,000." The board moved the resolution to the floor and approved it by voice vote. Members noted that the transfers will bring accounts closer to zero for year‑end reporting and that any unusually large balances would be addressed in future budget planning.
Board members also discussed lines such as the personnel/compensation and workers' compensation lines and confirmed the transfers will be brought to the floor and approved in sequence.
