The Johnsburg Town Board voted to adopt its final 2025 budget Tuesday after a brief discussion that flagged a personnel-line increase for the town supervisor. The chair said the supervisor personnel services line rose from $30,000 to $35,000 and that, although they would recuse from discussion, they were required to cast a vote on the budget.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution acknowledging changes from the preliminary to the adopted budget and then took the motion to adopt the final budget. The chair called for a voice vote and members responded "Aye," approving the budget. One member asked about the earlier acknowledgement-versus-adoption steps; the chair clarified that the earlier vote had been to acknowledge changes, and the body subsequently voted to adopt the final document.
Board members urged further internal planning about the supervisor position and pay going forward, with one board member saying the town should set a multi-year approach rather than ad-hoc increases. The adoption was presented as part of routine fiscal housekeeping and carries forward revenue and staffing assumptions discussed during the budget hearings.
