The Town of Johnsburg board approved authorization to proceed with paving around the new salt shed and voted to purchase a tow-behind blower for ditch maintenance. Supporters noted environmental benefits from sealing the salt shed area to limit salt leaching and described the blower as an investment that will reduce long-term labor and maintenance costs.
A board member said the blower selected is towable by a truck and does not require loader equipment, lowering operating costs and offering on-truck control to avoid disturbing residents. Both measures were moved to the floor and approved by voice vote during the meeting.
