Trustee James Mark Browne updated the board on the Albany Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project, saying the village signed and executed its portion of the Final Design Report and related federal environmental paperwork. Browne said the Local Project Unit (LPU) circulated the design regionally and returned a few mostly administrative comments related to memo templates and an updated Social Economic and Environmental Checklist; he described the issues as minor and anticipated a regional sign‑off and an approval letter in late September.
Browne reported the village prepared cost-reimbursement paperwork under Grant #10 for April–June 2024 and paid HVEA approximately $22,000 for that period. If the LPU signs off, the next steps Browne listed are final plans and specifications, permitting, issuing a construction RFP, construction management, award and start of work followed by closeout. He noted unresolved items including access to new sidewalks in the business district and final cost estimates prior to issuing a construction RFP.
