SBA offers disaster loans for businesses affected by Garden Grove hazmat incident

Amber Carrillo, a public affairs specialist with the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, briefed the council and attendees about Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance available to businesses affected by a May hazmat incident in Garden Grove.
"We are offering low interest loans for businesses who may have been impacted," Carrillo said, explaining rates "as low as 4% for businesses, as low as 3.625% for non-profits," with loan terms up to 30 years and maximum loan amounts of $2,000,000. Carrillo noted there are no application fees and no cost to apply; affected businesses can apply at sba.gov/disaster and may visit a business recovery center in Garden Grove through Aug. 13 for in-person assistance.
Mayor Bergson and staff agreed to help circulate materials and contact information through the city's channels so potentially impacted businesses in the Jurupa Valley area can learn about eligibility and how to apply.
