But I want it to be known that we’re forced into this decision because New York State, a state with a budget over $250 billion, a quarter trillion, refuses to replace 100‑year‑old lead pipes for its residents.” Trustee James Mark Browne recorded that Murphy’s remarks were his personal comments and not an official Village Board position. The board then proceeded with the design amendment motion, which was seconded and approved.
