Historic Preservation Commission pursues CLG grant work and potential district boundary review

Trustee Susan Patterson reported at the Oct. 9 meeting that the Historic Preservation Commission has secured a Certified Local Government (CLG) grant to review the boundaries of the village's national register historic districts.
Simple Design Studios prepared a draft report that was revised after HPC comments and submitted as a final report to the NYS Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Patterson said once Parks responds, the HPC will decide whether to recommend changes to district boundaries and, if so, schedule a public hearing. Patterson also noted an open seat on the HPC and invited interested village residents (eligibility: village resident with interest in historic preservation/architecture, local history, or related education/employment) to apply by Nov. 15. "The next HPC meeting is Thursday, Oct. 17th, 2024," Patterson added.
