The Carroll County board voted to approve Resolution 2026-011 to donate a used Ford Explorer to the Northwest Iowa YES Center for juvenile transport and program use.
Staff reported the vehicle has approximately 150,000 miles, deer damage to the front end and no trade-in value, and said it is otherwise mechanically sound. "He said that it's gonna be used for juvenile delinquent transports," the clerk reported to the board, adding that title transfer should occur in mid-to-late August.
The motion to approve the resolution was moved, seconded and decided by roll call; the clerk recorded votes of "Yes" for Anderson, Hausman, Johnson and McCray and the resolution carried. Board members characterized the donation as a worthwhile use of surplus county property.
