Green EMS reports staffing, training and call volumes; warns about proposal for sheriff-run ambulances

Heidi also said county legislators have been discussing having the sheriff's office operate ambulances. She said Green EMS could have stood up additional ambulance capacity more quickly and expressed concern that sheriff-run ambulances may rely on EMTs rather than paramedics and would face a longer training timeline. "I don't know how these sheriffs are gonna do that... it blows my mind," she said, and added she will attend another meeting to learn more.
