Cascade SD 5 board adopts $105.2 million 2026–27 budget and amends 2025–26 appropriations

The Cascade School District #5 Board unanimously adopted the 2026–27 budget on June 8 in the aggregate amount of $105,185,770 and approved related appropriation and tax items necessary to implement the budget.
Finance Director Mr. Wang presented budget details during the hearing, explaining that bond proceeds will be recorded separately from the general fund but could relieve some general-fund maintenance costs. The board adopted the budget and appropriations for the General Fund, Special Revenue, Enterprise, Capital Projects and Debt Service as set forth in Exhibit A.
The Board also adopted a resolution amending 2025–26 appropriations (under ORS 294.311 and ORS 294.463) to adjust for revenue and beginning-fund-balance variances; the change represented a total impact of $1,484,063 (a 3.33% increase) in Fund 100 general-fund appropriations. Detailed line items adopted in Exhibit A include General Fund instruction ($26,863,838), capital project building acquisition ($39,265,000), and total adopted budget $105,185,770.
In a separate resolution, the Board moved to impose the ad valorem property taxes for tax year 2026–27 consisting of a permanent rate of $4.6405 per $1,000 of assessed value for general operations and $1,908,224 for general obligation bond debt service.
Chair Stegall closed the budget hearing at 8:49 p.m.; there were no public comments during the hearing.
