Albany Avenue pedestrian and bicycle project moves to final design; construction targeted for summer 2025

The Kinderhook Village Board heard progress on the Albany Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project and authorized next steps toward construction. Trustee James Mark Browne said NYS Department of Transportation had approved the preliminary design and the project was ready to proceed to Final Detailed Design; HVEA will submit a cost reimbursement and an invoice for July–Nov. 2024 in the amount of $7,693.29.
Browne said the design work is about 90% complete, with ramp and sidewalk concepts for the business district still under refinement. He said the plan is to start construction in July 2025, finish by the end of that year and complete project closeout by May 2026; Browne also noted coordination with DOT and with NYS DOS funding that will cover some costs DOT does not.
