Commissioners approve travel and training for District Attorney and coroner staff

Commissioners authorized travel and training requests for county staff at the Feb. 19 meeting. Commissioner Robert J. Snyder, Jr. moved to approve District Attorney Busch's attendance at the Pennsylvania District Attorney's Traffic Safety Conference, "Lethal Weapon," scheduled for March 24–25 in Pittsburgh; registration is $350 and the PDAA will cover lodging, with mileage and meal reimbursement to be requested after return. Commissioner Patrick F. Kline seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The board also approved two coroner training requests from Coroner Wimer. Commissioner Snyder moved to send Chief Deputy Coroner Cody Magill to a one-day training in Pittsburgh (registration $300; lodging $175) and to send Deputy Coroner Donald Mason to a March 3–8 training in Pittsburgh (registration $1,500; lodging six nights at $175 per night). Both motions were seconded by Commissioner Kline and carried unanimously; the minutes state all costs will be paid from the Coroner's training account.
