Trustee James Mark Browne told the board on March 12 that he is stepping down as an elected trustee after 15 years of service but will continue to advise the village on major construction projects on a consulting basis. Browne said he initially served on planning boards and was later appointed and elected to the Village Board; he asked that DPW and HVEA provide oversight on planned summer construction projects.
Browne submitted a written statement for the minutes, in part: "It has been a huge privilege and honor to serve this community these last fifteen (15) years. ... Although I am stepping down as an elected Trustee – I plan to continue to support the Mayor and Trustees as an advisor and provide counsel as requested." Mayor Dorene Weir thanked Trustee Browne on behalf of the board for his service.
The board appointed Jarrod Beebe to fill a Parks and Recreation Commission term expiring March 2027 (Mayor Weir motioned; Trustee Monahan approved; Trustee Murphy seconded; all voted "Aye"). The board also reviewed summer-program planning (July 7–Aug 15, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.) and approved travel for DPW staff to attend NY Rural Water Association training May 19–21 (estimated cost about $900 per attendee), with one employee agreeing to reimburse two meal tickets.
