The Pendleton School District 16 Board on Aug. 11 approved the district’s July 31, 2025 financial report following a presentation from Michelle Jones, the district’s Director of Business Services. Jones told the board that "Salaries and benefits are in line with projections for the fiscal year" and said other July expenditures were "usual and customary."
Jones explained an audit-required journal entry that produces a temporary negative balance under miscellaneous revenue at year-end: because the district operates on a cash basis, it must "zero out" liabilities on the books as of June 30 and then reinstate them after July 1, which explains timing differences between monthly actuals and budget columns. Director Mason Murphy moved to approve the financial report; Director Anne Keeler seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
