Summer learning grant reduced; district adjusts Title and special-revenue estimates

Staff told the committee the summer learning grant decreased from about $350,000 to $227,000 and reviewed expected changes to Title I/II/III, Measure 98, SIA, IDEA and the YTP billing model, with some grants budgeted conservatively.
Staff updated committee members on changes to federal and state grant revenues used in special revenue funds. "Last year, as Aaron shared, we got about a $350,000 grant to do summer learning. This year... that grant will be $227,000," the Chair said, noting the budget document will be updated to reflect the reduced award.
The presentation covered Title I/II/III estimates (Title I near $580,000 with a projected drop), Measure 98 and SIA figures, and a change in the Youth Transition Program (YTP) funding: YTP will move to a $50-per-hour billing model, which staff estimated will create a district general-fund cost (plugged into the budget at about $50,000). Staff kept some grant lines conservative to avoid overcommitment if federal or state flows change.
