On Jan. 14, 2025, the Waco Independent School District Board of Trustees met at South Waco Elementary for a Team of Eight governance training provided by MoakCasey, LLC. Board President Stephanie Korteweg called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and stated that a quorum was present; she also said the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code Chapter 551).
The agenda described the session as "as required by statute" and said the training would include an introduction to the district's strategic planning process. Dr. Jodi Duron facilitated the Team of Eight training for the trustees and the superintendent. The meeting adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
