City adopts comprehensive-plan text amendments; state issued letter of no objection

Consulting Planner Dave Dixon said the amendment had been transmitted to the state, which issued a "letter of no objection with no comments." The revision updates multiple elements—including housing, recreation and open space, transportation, coastal management, conservation, and capital improvements—and incorporates required Broward County policies. The commission opened a public hearing, heard no public speakers, and voted 5–0 to adopt the ordinance on final reading.
Dixon noted one map recertification was required because the city had not updated the map since the late 1990s; the city followed the appropriate intergovernmental process with Broward County and the Broward County Planning Commission.
