Jordan trustees approve routine bills, hire law firm and authorize extra accounting funds

The Village of Jordan Board of Trustees met on Feb. 10, 2025, and approved routine business including the minutes of Jan. 27, 2024, and Abstract #17. Clerk Trapp reported 'Abstract #17 for a total of $46,125.84,' and Trustee Bates moved to approve the abstract; Trustee Stapleton seconded and the motion carried with all present voting in favor.
Mayor Brim asked the Board to approve the 2025 engagement agreement with law firm Costello, Cooney & Fearon and to approve an additional $10,000 for accounting work to complete the annual financial report. The Board approved both motions (the additional accounting funds described in the meeting as 'an additional $10,000.00 for our Accountant to continue to enter/reconcile/and file AFR for 23/24'). Later in the meeting the Board approved a motion to go into executive session 'for the purpose of employment history of an individual'; executive session ran from 8:35 p.m. to 8:47 p.m., and the meeting adjourned at 8:49 p.m.
