Water operator reports van repair, joint project on hold and obsolete meter readers

Water Operator Williams and Frederick DiRisio updated the board on several operational issues affecting water and sewer services.
Williams reported a fuel sensor fault in the water van that required towing to West Herr for dealer-only diagnostics. DiRisio said the department assisted the Town of Elbridge with a water main break on Route 5 and that the Joint Water Project is temporarily on hold because of weather conditions.
DiRisio also warned that the village's meter-reading system is becoming obsolete with no vendor support and that the village's 43-year-old generator recently passed inspection. The board was informed of these maintenance and equipment needs but did not take action beyond noting the reports.
