Village of Jordan approves abstracts, equipment purchase and names new part-time officer

The Village of Jordan Board of Trustees on Jan. 13 approved routine financial items, a boardroom equipment purchase and a personnel appointment.
Clerk/Treasurer Tina A. Trapp reported Abstract #14 in the amount of $60,456.19 and Abstract #15 for $38,926.89; Trustee Stapleton moved to approve both abstracts and Trustee Bates seconded. "All present voting in favor, motion carried," the minutes record.
The board also approved a request to buy a 65-inch television and wall mount for the board room not to exceed $500. Trustee Bates moved the purchase and Trustee Stapleton seconded; the motion carried.
Mayor Brim requested approval of a B&L resolution related to the State Environmental Quality Review Act process for a joint sewer project with the Town of Brutus; Trustee Bates moved, Trustee Stapleton seconded and the board voted to approve the resolution.
In personnel action, the board appointed Luis Ramano as a part-time police officer. Mayor Brim said Officer Ramano lives in Frankfort and "has been Full Time Officer for 22 years." Trustee Stapleton moved to appoint Ramano, Trustee Bates seconded, and Mayor Brim administered the oath.
A final motion to pay bills and file correspondence was made by Trustee Simko and seconded by Trustee Bates; the board voted to carry it. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
