Board approves consent agenda including multimillion-dollar purchases and security services

At its May 12 meeting the Temple ISD Board approved the consent agenda, which included a range of purchases and administrative items. The consent items listed several purchases over $50,000 such as HVAC equipment for Temple High School administration offices, uniformed armed guard security services for nine campuses, Curriculum Associates materials, a walk-in freezer and cooler for the Operations Center, classroom and cafeteria furniture, and NWEA K–5 online science materials. The board also approved sale of surplus portables, a District enrollment update, Budget Amendment No. 10, and accepted the third-quarter investment report ending March 31, 2025.
Shannon Gowan moved to approve the Consent Agenda and Ronnie Gaines seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 7–0. The minutes list the specific procurement categories but do not include vendor names (except where noted on the agenda) or line-item contract amounts in the minutes.
