Temple ISD approves up to $600,000 for K–5 materials, OKs $60,000 Spanish pilot

The Temple ISD Board approved expenditures for instructional materials at its May 12 meeting, authorizing up to $600,000 for K–5 math and K–5 English language arts materials. The motion was made by Ronnie Gaines and seconded by Dawn Cook; the motion carried unanimously, 7–0.
Trustees also approved participation in a Bluebonnet Learning Spanish instructional materials pilot for math and reading with a cap of $60,000 (motion by Shannon Gowan, seconded by Dawn Cook; carried 7–0). The items were listed in the Academics section of the agenda and recorded as action items on the minutes.
