Superintendent outlines attendance push, levy renewal and new Seaside Education Foundation

Superintendent Susan Penrod told the Seaside School District 10 board on Sept. 16 that the district will promote an ‘‘Everyday Matters’’ attendance initiative this year and is preparing to pursue a renewal of the local option levy.
Penrod introduced Susanna Fry, who is training to staff board meetings, and said the board received a distributed FAQ about the levy renewal. Penrod also announced a new Seaside Education Foundation and thanked community advisors Josiah Glaser and Ann Susee for help getting it started. Board member Kevin LaCoste asked whether the prior levy was a close election; Penrod said the last levy ran during COVID-19 but ‘‘passed by a healthy margin.’’
