The finance committee recommended that the Board authorize the township manager to enter into a natural gas services agreement for township facilities, subject to acceptable rates to be presented at the Aug. 3 Board meeting. The manager explained that gas pricing is time‑sensitive and that the township uses a consultant (Provident Energy) to monitor markets.
"We don't have actual pricing yet in this day and age... Pricing and utility swings, days, hours, minutes make a difference in the pricing," the township manager said, emphasizing the procurement timing and that the manager will bring pricing to the Board on Monday. The manager noted township annual natural gas spend for all facilities is about $130,000 and that final action depends on day‑of pricing.
