The finance committee voted to recommend that the Board of Commissioners award a contract for replacement of ADA curb cuts to Albert G. Cipollone Jr & Sons Inc., the apparent low bidder. Chief Financial Officer Adam Chomsky said the project includes demolition and reconstruction of 32 ADA‑compliant ramps at 11 intersections in the Kenwood section, plus lawn restoration and required utility adjustments, and that the work will be funded from the township's CDBG allocation.
"This project involves the demolition and reconstruction of 32 new ADA compliant ramps at 11 intersections in the Kenwood section of the township," Chomsky said while reviewing the bid results and the recommended award. The low bid was reported at $228,258; committee members noted the bid came in approximately 21% below the engineer's estimate and that the recommended contractor had previously performed similar work for the township.
Committee members asked about the engineering firm selection (Carroll Engineering was performing the CDBG engineering) and public-notice procedures; staff confirmed federal CDBG procurement and engineering RFP processes were followed. The committee approved the recommendation unanimously.
