Albany Avenue pedestrian project moves forward; water-main upgrade complete, funds eyed for William Street design

Trustee James Mark Browne told the board that the Albany Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project received DOT preliminary-design approval on Nov. 18, 2024, and final detailed design work is scheduled through June 2025. He said the village hopes to begin construction early July and continue through November 2025, with project closeout targeted for December 2025–May 2026, contingent on DOT timing.
Separately, the Albany Avenue water-main upgrade is complete and the village has closed payments to HVEA and Tighe & Bond (October invoice $1,255.50; November invoice $4,245.00). Clerk/Treasurer Nicole Heeder reported residual funds are available and the board discussed using approximately $1 million to move forward with design for William Street, where engineering and construction are estimated at about $900,000.
