At the committee meeting, Dan Willis, director of utilities, flagged two active leaks in the Tahoe Cedars system. Willis said staff found one leak estimated at about 25 gallons per minute and another at about 90 gallons per minute.
Committee members discussed possible causes and seasonal variation: Willis noted a warmer January compared with the previous year and that inflow and infiltration (I&I) likely contribute to the observed differences in sewage volume. Staff indicated they will continue monitoring and addressing problem lines.
