Will Shelton, the district’s engineering manager, presented a recommendation to adopt Resolution 26-05 to call for bids for the Tahoe City West Sewer System Rehabilitation Project Phase 1. "What this project is is, phase 1 of currently anticipated 3 phases, to rehabilitate the sewer system in Fairway Drive and the system adjacent to the golf course," Shelton said.
Shelton described a mix of approaches for the work, including dig-and-replace segments and cured-in-place pipe (a no-dig rehabilitation technology), and noted that the project is categorically exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act and falls within the TRPA MOU; staff are obtaining encroachment permits from Placer County. He said construction is anticipated in 2026 and "the current engineer's estimate is just, $1,656,000, which is within budget of the project."
