Tarkington ISD board approves library purchases for all campuses

The Tarkington ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve proposed library book purchases for the district’s campuses on Jan. 20. The motion, made by Jackie Flores and seconded by Jason Ward, passed unanimously among those present (6–0, one absence). Procurement will cover Tarkington Early Childhood School, Tarkington Elementary School, Tarkington Middle School and Tarkington High School and will be funded through campus library budgets.
Ms. Amy Toler, District Librarian, presented the purpose of the purchases and described the review and selection process, saying the acquisitions conform with Board Policy EFB (LOCAL) and EFB (LEGAL). The board approved the purchases as a formal action in the meeting’s action agenda.
