Colton fire and EMS activity reported; AED quote presented for park installation

Jeritt Pedersen delivered the Fire Department report at the Dec. 8 meeting: the department had 1 fire meeting, 2 fire trainings and 3 fire calls; EMS had 1 meeting, 1 training and 8 calls. Those counts were entered into the minutes as the department’s recent activity.
Public Works Superintendent Pedersen also presented an AED quote from Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota: the Lifepak AED is $1,581 with an additional $150 for a cabinet. Pedersen said the AED would be mounted in the park "for accessibility for the pool and ball fields during the spring and summer season and located at City Hall off season." The council agreed to continue looking into grant options and to follow up on the item at the March meeting.
