Council approves library resolution, consents to DSU fence project and tables property‑maintenance ordinance

Council consented to DSU’s SecureSD Project Boundary Fence, approved Resolution No. 16‑2025 with SiouxLand Library, and tabled Ordinance No. 4‑2025 (International Property Maintenance code) until Jan. 12; Resolution No. 1‑2026 on salaries will be considered at the Jan. 12 meeting.
At the Dec. 8 meeting the council took action on several formal items. A motion by Wochnick, seconded by Vande Voort, consented to DSU’s implementation of SecureSD for a Project Boundary Fence; the motion passed unanimously. The council approved Resolution No. 16‑2025 between the City of Colton and SiouxLand Library (motion by Evans, seconded by Bunjer), with all members voting aye.
The proposed Ordinance No. 4‑2025, adopting the International Property Maintenance code book for the City of Colton, was tabled for vote until the Jan. 12 meeting. Council members also noted that Resolution No. 1‑2026 concerning salaries will be reviewed and considered at the Jan. 12 meeting.
