Council made a series of routine administrative approvals at the Dec. 8 meeting. A motion by Vande Voort, seconded by Evans, approved the November 2025 meeting minutes and agenda; the motion passed unanimously. Council also approved December claims by motion.
The council approved purchase of a new copy machine for $3,425 with a quarterly maintenance fee of $258 (motion by Bunjer, seconded by Vande Voort). The council approved a $250 donation to the 2026 Sioux Empire Water Festival. Separately, Cole Amundson of the Colton Economic Development Group submitted an application requesting a $25,000 city donation to support land development on the city’s east side; the application was filed for consideration (no approval recorded in the minutes). Finance Officer Pilker also reviewed proposed City Hall holiday closing dates for Dec. 24–25 and presented banner/flag design discussion for the country’s 250th celebration.
