Assessor Phil Griswold reported that he completed the field review and prepared public notice of the assessment inventory and valuation data in accordance with Real Property Tax Law (RPTL) Section 501; he has been processing monthly deeds, splits and exemption renewals tied to the STAR program. The assessor said all exemption renewals and applications were received by the March 1 deadline.
The board also reappointed John Avery to the Board of Assessment Review after his term expired in September 2024; Councilman James Patsos moved for reappointment, Councilman Kyle Black seconded, and the board voted Aye 3, Nay 0, with two members absent. The Office of Real Property Tax Services will contact Mr. Avery about required training.
