Representatives from Gill’s Disposal met with the Village of Davis board on Oct. 22 to discuss the garbage contract that is coming to an end. Company representatives answered questions about noise concerns and early pickup times and said that the question of switching to large totes that are mechanically lifted by trucks would be left to the village board to decide.
No contract decision was made at the meeting; the board scheduled review of the new contract for the November meeting. Residents raised concerns about pickup noise and timing; company representatives acknowledged the issues and noted the tote decision is at the board's discretion.
