The Sherrill City Commission announced a public fundraising effort on July 13 naming volunteers to lead outreach for a proposed municipal pool. A commissioner said the fundraising team will be led by Jeremy Roden, Holly Hodges, Jason Merrill, Adam VanRoof and Lauren McDonald and will use a one-question survey, a QR code and both electronic and hard-copy pledge cards to solicit donations.
The commissioner said the campaign will include a Facebook page and local signage and that contributions will pay for items “above and beyond the normal scope of the pool.” The commission also said two commissioners, Kevin and Mike, will serve in an oversight role to guide incoming funds and recognition will vary by donation level; staff confirmed donations under $1,000 will be accepted and will receive website recognition rather than engraved recognition.
