Deputy Fire Chief Scott Mohr told the board on June 8 that the Fire Department had "burned through the existing entry level test" and currently has one vacancy to fill.
Mohr said one candidate with paramedic and Basic Operations Firefighting certification had accepted another department’s offer and another candidate became nonresponsive; he recommended sending a certified letter to an unresponsive candidate and restarting testing to create a new eligibility list. Mohr said he will contact the National Testing Network to understand the Evergreen (ongoing/rotating) testing model used by some departments and will return with a recommendation on whether to adopt Evergreen testing or proceed with a traditional testing cycle.
