President Stephanie Korteweg called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. and confirmed that the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. District staff and the consultant framed the maps as materials for committee and public review rather than final decisions; the board set a follow‑up Citizens Committee meeting for Jan. 16, 2025, to continue review and community input.
Wendy Sledd, the district's Executive Director of Communications, reviewed a breakdown of the Waco ISD campus survey that staff used to inform the draft plans. The presentation and maps were positioned as a basis for discussion and public feedback; no binding vote or adoption of boundaries occurred at the workshop.
