Midway City Sanitary District says compost giveaway distributed about 3,000 bags to residents

President Pro Tem Andrew Nguyen and Director of Services & Program Development Ashley Davies reported that the district’s May compost giveaway on May 16 was highly successful. Davies told the board the event distributed “approximately 75 pallets and nearly 3,000 bags” to residents and that staff handled traffic control and coordination.
Davies also previewed a July cleanup and shredding event and described the District’s participation in a United Way summer internship program scheduled June 8 through July 3. Director Sergio Contreras and others thanked staff for operational support; the board noted the outreach was part of ongoing efforts to increase resident recycling and reuse.
The report was presented during routine staff reports; no formal vote was required. The district’s next community events and the July cleanup date will be announced at a future meeting or on the district website.
