Forest County Commissioners on April 2, 2025 unanimously proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The motion was made by Commissioner Robert Snyder, Jr. and seconded by Commissioner Patrick Kline; the board recorded the motion as carried unanimously and presented the proclamation to local child-welfare staff.
The proclamation was presented to Forest County Children & Youth caseworkers Rachel Bereksazi, Olivia Stouffer and Destiny Ginnery. Commissioners expressed appreciation for Children & Youth staff and urged citizens to "learn to better understand, recognize and respond" to child abuse, language reflected in the motion recorded in the meeting minutes. No additional action or funding was recorded in the minutes.
