Shively said the class learned to rely on one another and stressed resilience and humility as core lessons. She presented an 'instructor of the cycle' award to Officer Underwood and presented the academy plaque to Lieutenant Kemp on behalf of the class.
"This day represents more than earning a badge," Officer Emily Shively said, thanking the academy staff for preparing the recruits and the families for their sacrifices. The academy also recognized academic achievement: Austin Gregg earned the highest GPA (97.9) and was the first recipient of academy honors.
