Cuba offers community center for law-enforcement training; quarterly meetings with sheriff planned

Alderwoman Clark told the committee she has discussed residents’ concerns with Fulton County Sheriff Webb and proposed quarterly meetings at mutually agreed times and places to discuss contract compliance and local issues. As part of strengthening coordination, the city offered the Community Center as a training site for local law enforcement; Clark said the offer "was gladly accepted on Wednesday 10/15/25 when all local law enforcement agencies came together for a joint training exercise."
Clark said she also has asked the Sheriff’s Office for additional incident reporting so the city can better evaluate whether police responses increase, decrease, or show no clear change when officers are present in town. Officials framed the training and regular engagement as steps to improve communication and oversight while the committee and City Council consider whether to continue contracting for county police services.
