Resident seeks reimbursement after lot replatting led to plantings on neighboring parcel

At the May 6 meeting resident Marj Haarmann asked the Board to reimburse her for landscaping costs after discovering plantings were installed on what she says is the neighboring lot. Haarmann said she purchased Lot 60 in Prairie View Subdivision in March 2020; earlier that year the village re-platted Lots 1 and 2 into Lots 60 and 61, changing lot shapes. According to Haarmann, when landscaping was installed a map of the former Lot 2 was used rather than the re-platted Lot 60, resulting in grass and trees on Lot 61.
Haarmann said her closing documents show she purchased Lot 60 and that she was unaware of the replat when plantings were installed. The Board took no action and said it will discuss the request at a future meeting; the transcript does not record any reimbursement amount or decision timeline.
